No bitching here. It had to be a Husky after beating USC and UCLA and Christal had a great weekend. Court also had a great weekend, but Christal was more the key to the two wins. 10 double-doubles in the last eleven matches in the PAC-10? That is being on fire.

I would love to see her playing with the national team after this season and training for the Beijing 2008 games. As much as I don't really like the Huskies, Chrystal Morrison is a beast. I wonder why she doesn't do her jump serve anymore. I liked her Tuff jumper better than her lolly pop serve, I guess that's what Hawai'i calls it.

This is great for Chrystal and she deserves it after winning a pair of good matches against top 10 teams

Great job for Christal, I knew Foluke wouldn't get it. She had great numbers with kills and hitting percentage, but her blocking was a little low. Christal deserved it, plain and simple.

Frankly I can't argue with this selection. However - I was hoping there might be some low-level sniping, if only for the entertainment value.

I really thought Courtney Thompson deserved it more. I mean, Cristal was great, but for a setter to get 64 assists one night and then 70 the other against teams ranked higher than them at the time, that is just incredible. I mean, as a previous setter, I just know how difficult her sets are and how easy she makes them look.

If I'm not mistaken, each school nominates only one player for POW. So, Washington nominated Christal and not Courtney this week. I agree with Wallyball that Court deserves the nomination. Maybe she will get the nod after the Thanksgiving weekend?

After WA drops both games in the Bay Area? That would be a hard sell, but you never know. If I'm not mistaken, each school nominates only one player for POW. The way Cal is playing lately, I am not so sure that the Golden Bears will beat the Huskies. I think Cutura will definitely have to be on top of her game, as will the middle blockers on both offense and defense. I could see them pulling off the upset, but they'll have to get some momentum first, i.e., beat Stanford, UCLA or USC prior to the Washington weekend.

I heard Kat Reilly is practicing again, and she's looking really fit. Middle depth (two of four middles injured) is one of Cal's big problems this season, and Kat would be really nice to have in there if she gets up to speed. Morgan Beck is mostly playing middle right now. Some games their passing is incredible and others it falls apart. I'm having a hard time figuring out this team. They have the potential to knock of UW, but only if every part of their game is working well. I don't know if Reilly will be redshirted. When I talked to her, she seemed to be absolutely itching to play.

Maybe she will get the nod after the Thanksgiving weekend? So far, it seems that Washington has nominated Morrison every weekend they've nominated someone. I'm not sure why; Courtney has had some great matches too.
