this very same thing happened to Long Beach State 3 years ago when they played UOP in Stockton......everyone had their wallets, purses, bags ransacked while they were on the court playing.....all lost their money.......not sure if they ever found out who took the money but it was a serious breach of security for sure!

The most I carry in my wallet at any given time is $40, and that includes the food stamps and Safeway coupons.

Embarassing for ASU.... It still seems like a lot of money to be carrying for a bunch of students.

As someone pointed out, there's alot of players on the team; so $1200 divided by so many people is not very much to be carrying around when you are traveling.

Ipods are part of life for these young ladies, they cost $200 or more, plus the time and effort of loading them. Many things loaded on them will be lost forever. I would be ticked off if mine was stolen, Eagles, Moody Blues, and other oldies that would take time to replace. I guess some posters are to old to remember music – that’s OK – as long as you remember to post. ;D

Embarassing for ASU.... It still seems like a lot of money to be carrying for a bunch of students. As pointed out in the math equation of an earlier post...really not that much cash per girl. I know one program that gives the girls the $100.00 (or more if it is a long travel week) for the travel meals at the airport before they even leave home. The girls all pay individually for each of their meals even though they usually eat as a team. Since they eat right after they play, there could have been more money to be confiscated. I am not making light of the situation, but it happens everywhere these days. Oh. And good thing Stanford is close to Apple Computer for the ipod debacle.

I have been to a couple of matches at ASU and the area to the visitors locker room is fairly wide open, up a tunnel from the floor. Walked out that way once with very little security around.
At the McKale Center in Tucson the locker room areas are in a more confined space and the Wildcat athletic dept. assigns a senior staff member to the head coach of the visiting team to coordinate access in and out of the locker room. I'm sure that ASU must do something similar ... that this happened is disappointing to hear.
