Well November is practically here... anyone heard through the grapevine of possible college commitments?

For 2008?
Because 2007 is all but done, except for the formal signings.

For 2008? Because 2007 is all but done, except for the formal signings. Maybe among ranked programs and those that aspire to be ranked. However - there's plenty of mid-major and lower-tier programs that are still making offers and looking for players. The lament of many D-II/III and NAIA programs is that they're left looking for the players who are waiting on D-I offers. The recruitment of walk-ons is probably starting in earnest. I found out about four 2006 walk-ons at Cal after the Fall 2005 NLI deadline. Of course that was eventually reduced to three (you suck Charlie Wade!).

Right. I'm just assuming he's asking about the top names.

My daughter's name is not on there so obviously, these are not the top names.

Right. I'm just assuming he's asking about the top names. The original question seemed rather open-ended. I remember participating in a PrepVB message board discussion where someone was asking why there were less than 90 commited 2007 setters listed on Rich Kern's site when previous years had up to 200 or more. Of course the answer was that the commitments hadn't come in yet for mid-major and lower-tier teams.

Has Jordan Meredith made any indication as to whether she will stay in Hawai'i or seek her fortunes on the mainland? I'm assuming Shoji is recruiting her, but so will many other top programs.

I think she'll stay home and play.... Hawai'i has some future bright stars coming up. Sydney Yogi -------Youth National Team Libero (Punahou) Kanani Herring ----Youth National Team OH (Kamehameha) Jordan Meredith ---Youth National Team OH (Kamehameha) not to mention I would love to see Falyn Fonoimoana 6'3 OH, probably the top recruit for 2010 play for the Wahine's....It's like that's where she would fit best...

I've heard some rumblings that Charlie Wade is going to try to lure some of that Hawaii talent to Pacific.
