Okay. So.
Wisky has to play Minnesota at home, and at Purdue. Those are the two toughest opponents that we have left on the schedule, I believe. Yes, they have to make the Michigan road swing this weekend, but I think we have a pretty good chance to finish out the rest of the season undefeated. What are the chances they'll receive a seed when tournament time comes?
GO BADGERS!

I was just being optimistic for the rest of the season, and looking at the best case scenario. But thanks for taking it upon yourself to disavow any knowledge or complicity with regard to the posting of this thread. Oh, that's right; I wasn't looking for that, or your elitist attitude. I'm a fan, and am not sorry for that. Have a great day! GO BADGERS!

I think they could lose two and still get a seed, to answer your question. I think Minnesota and Wisconsin will be helped this year by Notre Dame not being in the running. OSU and Ohio are probably out, too. For seeds, that is.
But Purdue will be.
This will be an interesting weekend for both the Badgers and Gophers. The Badgers need to start winning on the road and the Gophers need to bounce back from a tough loss. The team that loses one (let's hope no one loses two) may be handing over 2nd place to the other.

I think the Badgers just need to focus on winning the matches in Michigan. I think the loss at Michigan last year will help their focus in that one, so they should win there. MSU will be tougher, in my opinion, but I think the Spartans' problems with blocking will be an issue for the home team. I think the Badgers should be able to slow down Johnson and Schatzle if they block like they are capable of doing, but they need to find an answer for Hohl on the quick sets to the middle. Still, I think the Badgers should be able to pull the sweep of the weekend, although I am not looking for many style points in the process.

Minnesota was seeded last year and shipped to Tennessee.
In 2003 Minnesota was seeded 4th but still sent on the road for the 1st / 2nd rounds while Washington was seeded 8th and all of their matches prior to the Final Four at home.
It just shows to go ya that the NCAA committee's seeding are relatively meaningless since the move to pre-selected regional sites.

Minnesota was not seeded last year. They _should_ have been, but they weren't.
Personally, I think they were unseeded so that it would be easier to justify sending them to Tennessee.

You be right, I was thinking of their AVCA ranking last year not the tournament seeding.
My point though, was that the NCAA committee will pretty much do whatever they want in order to get their desired sub-regional travel limitatons and generally desired matchups later in the tournament since they've going to the pre-selected regional sites.
Personally I'd like to see regonal hosting returned to the way it was before the pre-selected sites since the majority of the pre-selected regional sites haven't come close to increasing regional attendance.
