Since the league does not have an All-Freshman Team, I see it as the VT community's_duty_ to decide. Remember to select only true Freshmen.
The Pac-10 chose 7, plus 5 HMs last year. The Big 10 chose 6 total last year.
So here it goes:
Ashley Engle UT-S/RS FOY Destinee Hooker UT-OH Heather Kisner UT-DS Kaylee Manns ISU-S Kori Cooper NU-MB Taylor Barnes BU-S Anna Breyfogle BU-MB
others that I like, but their numbers are not great: Julianna Klein MU-OH Mary Batis TAMU-OH Sarah Ammerman TAMU-OH

If you count RS Freshman than you forgot Holloway of Nebraska. She would get the nod for POY given her impact for the Huskers, their rating, conference championship, etc.

(based on what other leagues allow for their All-Freshmen teams) C'mon Big12 afficianados, put your 2 cents in. Unless you_all_ agree with me?

I believe the Big 12 is newcomer of the year which includes redshirt freshman. I think people have to consider that she also is not the typical redshirt freshman, her redshirt year was really her sr. year in HS.

I think Katie Sanders would be on the team before Ammerman, and Batis will definaetly be on the top team, not HM. Same with Rhodes from TAMU, she would also make the list before Ammerman

Big 12 has both FOY and newcomer OY. I say Hooker, Holloway.

So is Cooper considered a "true" freshman since she enrolled at UNL in Jan of 2006 and played with the team during 06 spring and summer China trip?

Yes because she was not party of their previous volleyball season. Like Hooker from UT and Mary Batis from TAMU. It is becoming a pretty common thing to do.
