Bruzdzinski carried the Wolverines' hopes of an NCAA Tournament bid on her back against two of the best teams in the Big Ten last weekend, averaging 5.33 kills per game against No. 10 Wisconsin and 5.25 against No. 12 Minnesota to help Michigan earn a split. The U-M junior extended her streak of consecutive matches with double-digit kills to 40 with spectacular performances in back-to-back nights. Bruzdzinski posted a .286 attack percentage against Wisconsin, the second-best blocking team in the conference, despite getting set 220 percent more than the next closest Wolverine. She then helped Michigan knock off its third-highest ranked opponent in program history with a decisive 3-1 win over Minnesota. Bruzdzinski had a match-high 21 kills versus the Gophers, hitting .386 and registering her 10th double-double of the year with 10 digs. She also served three aces, giving her nine aces in the last three matches. This is Bruzdzinski's second career weekly award.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ashley Edinger, Illinois

Edinger eclipsed 30 digs for the second time this year with 30 in the Illini's 3-1 win at Iowa, after posting 18 in the mid-week match against Northwestern. The Illinois freshman averaged 6.0 digs per game while serving up four aces for the weekend. She recorded just three reception errors on 114 attempts last weekend. With 408 digs on the year, Edinger is within striking distance of Beth Vrdsky's single-season record of 520 set last year. This is her first career weekly honor.
