Did you hear about the drama at AJ's with the 18's and 17's team? I guess AJ's owner lied to juniors in the club and were forcing them to play on a team they didn't want to be on. they planned on not telling them until the day of tryouts. and tryouts were schedule later then all of the other clubs in AZ so if they wanted to leave they had no options to go elsewhere. they all left because of it. AJ's is trying to keep them all together but can't even make a team now. They have no one for 17's or 18's. that sucks!

yep, supposedly there will be no teams. the aj's owner lied to all the parents and players and word got out, so they all left. they've been known for doing things like this. the funny thing is they lie about who is going to play for them to get kids there and those kids don't play for them. they just do it to try and get kids to the club. I guess the 18-1 coach even left for all the lies. She told her team last week she wouldn't return because of it so they all left too. everybody in az knows that club is drama though. no one likes aj's and they are always the most hated club.

actually there are teams, just not an 18's team. and it's because they all left last minute to go to other clubs. i guess they were making all juniors play 17's and all seniors play 18's. But none of those kids wanted to play 17's. They all wanted to play for the 18's coach. So they left. They are trying to put a team together still, but no one wants to go. I guess they are calling all these kids saying they can put a team together and naming all these other kids that will be playing and they are so not playing. They are still lying. So it's a good thing they left.

I heard about the coach leaving. Terri was put in a very tough situation and she had to do what was best for the kids. No one likes to admit it, but they are running a business and they had to make decisions. Where are all the girls going now?

Yes, it is a business, and business is ran poorly sometimes. Aj's is known for running things poorly. Rumor has it most kids are going to Club Red and Grand Canyon. You never know though. Tryouts are this weekend so we'll see. But it will be weird that AJ's for the 1st time won't have an 18's team. they will bounce back I'm sure. People forget this stuff a year from now.

ok, i just came from 4A state finals and I got all the gossip! Matter fact, a lot of people were talking about it. AJ's does not have an 18's team, maybe they can throw a club team together. They'll probably have a 17's team but won't be very good. And, a lot of the 16's players are leaving too because they wanted out while they could. But AJ's won't know that until tryouts tomorrow. All the top AJ's kids went to Club Red. And so did the AJ's coach Teri Spann. She is coaching there and left AJ's because of how bad they treated the kids and she got upset with the owners over it all. Their kids left too because it was a bad situation. So, i guess if your good, your going to Club red! They are going to be so stacked. So i guess the 18's Club Red team will dominate this year.

So i guess the 18's Club Red team will dominate this year. Isn't that the club team Tara Mueller plays for?

Problem is, Club Red has already "picked" their team-kids who played with them before and they feel some loyalty to them. So do you cut those kids and take the stronger AJ kids? Club Red only has ao much gym space-they can't have 3 18's teams unless they eliminate a lower age division. Tough decisions for Club Red to make. Yes, Tara Mueller plays for Club Red.
Bernie Ing has been the director/owener of AJ's, but he retired after last year. Tom Person took over. He's a weasel.

yes bernie has retired, but everyone is saying he is the weasel hiding behind the weasel. according to the rumors, bernie is the one that made most of the issues, and then made tom deal with it all. but tom is not very organized, so it made matters worse.

Club Red does not pre-select or recruit any players during the off season. This does not mean that they would like to see certain players make the team based on what the coaches have seen during the high school season, but everyone trys out. I have seen Club Red select players other than those the have played for them in the past to try and field a stonger and more competitive team. I have also seen them turn very talented players down that came to them after tryouts at other teams where they made the team, but for whatever reason chose to come to Club Red.

I never said they recruited players. But I know Joe Hesse feels a loyalty to those kids who played for him last year. About 4 years ago I asked him his situation at the libero position because my daughter wanted to play for him. He said he already had someone who played for him last year and he felt a loyalty to have her on the team again. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that-it's actually rather admirable. I think Club Red is one of the best run clubs in Arizona. BTW-my daughter ended up playing for Arizona Juniors. She had a good experience, but I know others who have not.
