Interesting... so this means they'll have scholarship room if, oh, I don't know, they get another recruit commitment in the next week?

I don'tthink it wouldhave mattered - they would have had another scholarship for Klineman regardless of Armstrong.

I wonder how long this has been bothering her, she definitely has not been the same this year, and I don't mean from a performance level.
She just didn't seem to have as much fun as last year, the look on her face rarely turned to excitement as it had in the past.
I wondered if something was wrong but since she was no longer wearing her knee braces figured it wasn't something physical.

Texas has had some bad luck at MB for sure. Someone on this board mentioned Armstrong's hip/leg problems last year when she (or was it Magee?) had a similar mid-season disappearance. I agree that her performance has seemed very strained this season. I think all of us who've been athletes know how debilitating chronic injuries can be, so this is probably the best thing for her. Too bad for her and for fans of her game.

I heard about this last night at the game, though no details as to what type of career ending injury were given. At the pre-match chat with Elliott, someone asked about Armstrong and was told HIPA (Health Information Protection Act) rules do not allow for case specifics to be released by the university.
I_loved_Armstrong's game last year. This year she has struggled. The only time I saw all of her power and consistency was at the AVCA Showcase against Washington.
I wish her only the best.
OT: Did you know that HIPA, if googled, is also the Hawai'i Island Paddlesports Association? And not paddle like a table tennis paddle, but paddle like an oar. Hmmmm

If you're really intrested in "googling" the privacy act, try "HIPAA" and you might get more than articles about paddleboating!!

Too bad her career had to end early.
BTW, HIPAA = Health Information Portability and Accountability Act

Crap now I have to re-do my Final Four prediction chart. With Magee and Armstrong I had Texas as almost a sure bet. When Magee went out I still felt they had a strong chance. Then with Acevedo unable to play front row anymore and Kisner with a thigh injury, I moved them to "dark horse but no surprise". Now without Armstrong or Magee and with a reduced Acevedo, they could be knocked out as early as the third round.
Paolini and Feist still have a long way to go. Moriarty doesn't seem to connect very well with either one yet.

Armstrong is such a strong competitor, I am shocked. Texas is now without both Brandy and Leticia.

Wow, very big loss for Texas. First Magee, now Armstrong. She had a breakout year last season and was on pace to hit around .380 until those last few matches. Not sure if she was half-injured then or just inexperienced. I believe Kathy Hahn had to retire from her MB position her senior year (03) because of injuries as well. Best of luck to Ms. Armstrong who I am sure is having a hard time dealing with this. My thoughts are with you.

Is Jerrit keeping her out of the front row to rest her legs or is Christian going to play front row for her all the time now? Christian still has some things to work out with her armswing, but I like how she is approaching the ball more aggresively. She is also probably our best blocker and we all know Texas is lacking in that department.

Acevedo is not 100% healthy. She's been struggling with a hip injury I believe.
