I'm watching this match right now and Herring is just a beast. She really does look like Willoughby in her back row approach. Being 5-10, she's Willoughby's height too. I really hope she considers Hawaii when she starts fielding offers.
I'm really impressed with this Kamehameha team. I don't think Hawaii has seen a team as good as this since the Kamehameha teams with Lily Kahumoku, Nohea Tano, Casey Castillo, Kea Kimball, Uila Crabbe, and Ku'ulei Kamana'o. I think they won three consecutive state titles, with Kahumoku on the team for two of those championship runs. Then in 2000, without Kahumoku, the five went undefeated and finished the season ranked No.1 in the nation.

If anyone is interested at 2 or 2:30 hawaii time they are reairing the Hawaii state girls volleyball championships. You can see JNT members Kanani, Jordan(kamehameha) and Sydney(Punahou) play. Right now its the Div 2 championships. www.oc16.tv/sports/livestream/As an FYI, Herring, Meredith and Yogi did not play for the JNT. They played for the U.S. Youth National Team, a different age group. The trio won gold in Gainesville as part of the team that won the NORCECA Girls’ Youth Continental Volleyball Championship, qualifying the U.S. for the 2007 FIVB Girls’ Youth World Championship (U-18) to be held Aug. 3-12 in Baja California, Mexico.

I'm fairly certain that Kanani Herring made a visit to UH the same weekend that Klineman was visiting Hawaii. I recall Kari Ambrozich sitting at the end of the bench talking with Kanani at the beginning of one of the matches during the Preseason tourneys.
