Is Hodge used a lot from the back row? I have yet to see PSU play.

She did a few times against Minnesota, but that's not going to answer your question. I don't know, but I'd bet it's mostly out of system swings. Seems like PSU doesn't need to take the risk with the other hitters they have.
(I really need to watch more VB... all these teams and so little time.)

If a someone hits from the back row as part of the system you can usually tell pretty quick. If it's done right the front row players are drawing the hitters somewhere else and the back row hitter comes out of nowhere. Washington's pipe sets come to mind.
I watched at least one TV match with PSU, but I don't remember that detail though. Of course it was the Wisconsin match, so PSU didn't leave as much of an impression.
