Big 12 Volleyball Player of the Week - Nov. 13

IRVING, Texas--Ashley Nu'u (Colorado) has received the Big 12 Conference Volleyball Player of the Week award for matches of Nov. 6-12, the league office announced.
Nu'u earns Big 12 Volleyball Player of the Week for the second time in her career. The Aurora, Colo. native also was selected for the honor last season (Oct. 31).
Ashley Nu'u, Colorado, S, Sr., 5-10, Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill Nu'u led the Buffs to a pair of victories including an upset of nationally top-ranked Nebraska. CU handed the Huskers their first loss of the 2006 season, defeating NU in five games. In other action, Colorado started the week with a sweep of Kansas.
At Kansas, Nu'u recorded 45 assists, seven digs and six kills. She also compiled a .556 hitting percentage in the win.
Nu'u posted 62 assists, eight digs, three kills and a block against Nebraska. It marked CU's first victory over a No. 1 ranked team in the program's 21-year history.
During the week, Nu'u moved into fourth place on CU's career assists list and currently has compiled 4,031 overall. She averaged 13.38 assists, 1.88 digs and 1.12 kills while contributing a .400 hitting percentage.
