I don't see a point in trashing nebraska just because one article has some sort of typo. But do you know from the context what the sentance was supposed to say?

From Cook's VBCoachesShow: "The players informed me that it was the most Rude-Crude crowd that we've had all year".... Something about .... discussions with Facility Directors during the match which is very distracting ... "Some of our players were commenting (that) they were ready to go into the stands after the match."

I think it is about time that Nebraska fans made it tough for visiting teams as well.
I know that Nebraskans like to say that they appreciate good volleyball and treat opposing teams well with respect, but they should not expect the same in return. Other teams are gunning for Nebraska, and in Big 12 conference, home matches against Nebraska are BIG deals, and those fans would talk trash to disrupt Nebraska's players (who just have to deal with it and shut them out of their mind).
I know that I run the risk of being bashed for mentioning Pac-10 in a thread about Nebraska, but Pac-10 teams always expect to go into rowdy (some maybe rude while others maybe just loud) arenas for away conference matches, and in training, they prepare for that...learning to focus on the match and not let fans distract them.
As said above, Nebraska should learn to deal with it, and not to expect cordial welcome when they go into matches at Texas, Colorado or Missouri.

It was a typo by lilred as he was recalling what Cook said in his TV show Monday night. Cook made some comment about the Iowa State fans being "rude and crude" and that they had to speak to the event staff people about it.

I think it is about time that Nebraska fans made it tough for visiting teams as well. "Getting even" won't improve the situation. I'm sure Cook has already talked to Christy about the issue and I'm sure Christy has talked to the event staff. She was "raised" as a Pettit Husker and knows that he built the Nebraska program by stressing doing everything with "class". I"m sure she wants to generate fans and may have to tolerate a little crap to start with but she will certainly get them going in the right direction.

Negative: a few new fans apparently think they are watching World Cup Soccer and have no respect for ladies. World Cup fans are tame compared to Basketball fans....... So people have actually been killed or a war started because of basketball?

I was itching all day at work to fix it, but we aren't allowed to log onto message boards. Just chalk it up to my University of Nebraska education.

I don't think they expect it to be a cordial welcome. I'm sure they expect it to be rowdy. However, there is rowdy and then there is inappropriate behavior, which I think that is what they were complaining about. I don't know though, I wasn't there.
