Do any of you my "Ohana" know about any potential recruits for our wahine's. We all know we lost AK but did he sign someone else? C'mon IB and Bik, you guys should know the scoops. Did they have a verbal from anyone also for next season besides Simmons and Ka'ahiue? Just curious...
What about Kanani and Meredith?

As far as the final list for 2007, Ontineru has made it pretty obvious that she wants to come back to Hawaii. She would be the final scholarship that Shoji was holding onto for Klineman. That should finish up the 2007 recruiting class.
As for 2008, there has been talk about a few recruits but nothing set. Shoji will likely be going after some top notch middles. Kaufman and Simmons will be the only middles available (Keefe has the ability to play middle if needed). Possibly Shoji will go after another setter. Knowing Shoji, he might pull in a middle that is a transfer from another program.

This thread is discriminatory and I won't stand for it.
Plus, I could have told you something about Hawai'i's recruits, but now I won't.

If they do have an open scholarship I hope he gives it to Lee, she deserves it. Thomas will also be here in 2008 right? Does she qualify for medical redshirt this year?

Dave should go get some Brazilians or Cubans......

how did ye lose ak when she never even signed w/the team there to begin with ye can only lose something that ye already have and ye never had ak so for hawa eeeeeeee fans i'll just give ye a tap on the bum for a good recruiting attempt i'm sure ye threw everything herincluding giving her a house and lot or maybe her own private island and all the locals to do her bidding she must not like championship titles for going to stanford it's not like stanford never guarantees @least 1 title for every senior class since their 1st title or anything much love to ye hawa eeeeans

I stand corrected. You’re all correct that Thomas will be back in 2008. I don’t know whether she will be granted a medical redshirt year or not, but she definitely will be available for the season. But knowing Shoji, he will likely still go after another middle, as Kaufman will be looked at as both a right side hitter or middle. But Shoji also takes transfers that played middle blocker, so he may seek after a player looking to transfer.
Beyond that, I am not sure who Shoji will be going after. Likely another setter unless he plans on trying to convert another DS to a setter. I have heard some rumors about who he is looking at but not sure if Hawaii is even in the running for those players.

I agree. Shoji will be going for a setter.

Thomas is only a sophomore this year so she'll still be at Hawaii in 2008. Whether she gets a 6th year of is an open question and we probably won't know until 2008.
With 3 incoming players, Shoji is probably done with recruiting for 2007. He may or may not have one scholarship still available. But given how deep the Wahine are at every position I really don't see Shoji using that scholarship to bring in a transfer--unless she's something really special.
As far as 2008, the word is that Hawaii has their eyes on 3 mainland girls and 1 local girl (whom everyone assumes is Kanani). As far as names or positions, who knows. But that was before the injuries. They may only have 3 scholarships available in 2008.
Hey, Mix Breed- Hawai'i/Texas, if you want a good place for info about the Wahine besides this board try the sportshawaii forums.
