Going back over old post at the beginning of the season, some people didn't think that Shane Davis could handle the job. Quoting one person "Loyola team is as unimpressive as the 24 year old coach". Which first, after looking at his stats, Shane was a fairly impressive player, but as for the coaching, Loyola is 18-7 overall with 11-4 conference. I've seen them play 2 or 3 times this year and am looking forward to the Lewis match up on April 14. But ....I think the "young" Shane Davis hasn't done too bad. Any other thoughts out there?

I thought that I had brought that point up earlier when I saw Loyola play IPFW the first time. If I didn't, I meant to.
I think he has done a great job. Loyola has had their moments (like losing to Missouri Baptist) but they have also beaten Lewis, IPFW and Ball State.

Add Penn State to that impressive list. Anytime a rookie coach can beat 2 of the final 4 teams.... they have to get an "A"
The problem will be next year...when they can't sneak up on anybody. Just ask UCI.

I wonder if it's hard to listen to someone that was on the court with you last year? I would think that Shane was a powerful leader on the court for a few years and that was a somewhat easy trasition for him....just a thought....he's just getting paid for it now and hopefully paid well ) His assist. looks very young too. AND they look like the best looking coaches out there....a little too young for me, but you don't mind sitting behind those benches haha.

Justin played with Shane last year and was Loyola's big hitter!! They are cute!!! Have to be the best looking coaching duo in the sport.

I'm going to try and get Loyola to look at one of my former players....do you think it would help if I said he was the BEST looking coach out there? ?haha However, I doubt if Mr. Davis is one of the many poster here. Question: I do not know what this players vertical is off hand, but I know he can touch top of square on basketball backboard. Probably higher than that since the actual hoop gets in the way. Is that average or good? I mean for us, it was awesome, he didn't get blocked unless he was late. He's a left handed hitter that could pound the ball well.

What other young coaches are there out there and does anyone know of a program that is looking for a coach? No not me, but this person would be a definate asset to any program.
