Anyone think Salvo or Toone may be All Americans this year?

it was a well fought game. CSU came out with a push on Utah. It was point for point the whole match. Also Connie Dangerfield entered into the 1000 dig club. She is only a junior and has one more year to keep tacking on digs.

How good is Utah, exactly? I guess the good thing about this sport is that we will probably get to find out in the NCAAs.

I saw the Utes in person and I really like their team. They block well, they sideout well, they play great defense. Anderson is a gem and only a frosh setter, Toone is very difficult to get the ball past, Salvo is a very fine outside, great serve. Throw in Webb and Baird and they are a difficult team to defend, cause they have several weapons. I think they can make some noise in the tournament.

Utah should pretty much sweep the awards in the Mountain West Conference this year:
MVP: Ariel Salvo COY: Beth Launiere Setter: Sydney Anderson Libero: Connie Dangerfield Newcomer: Sydney Anderson
Chelsea Goodman might win MVP, but I'd take Salvo on my team if I had to choose just one.
Beth has done an amazing job at Utah. They really need to build a suitable facility for their team. They play in a dungeon. I think they will make the Sweet 16, maybe farther if they get in a decent bracket. What's amazing - the majority of their team is from Utah. They're doing it with homegrown talent. Don't think most of you think of Utah as a hotbed for Women's Volleyball, but the Utes are proving you wrong! It used to be if you were good and from Utah you went to BYU. I think the tide is changing-Utah is the place to go.

Yes, Logan Tom and Kristin Richards are two of Utah's famous alumni, but I don't think most major colleges think "Utah" when they plan their recruiting trips. This may sound like a blanket statement, but I think "most" Utah girls don't want to leave the state. Family is #1 in our state, and most don't want to get too far from the nest. Makes it nice for Utah, BYU, and utah State. Weber State is at the bottom of the heap. They can't get the good Utah girls and it's tough to get out of state girls to move to Ogden Utah. You couldn't get me to move to Ogden-it's a dump.

But as you say, they would probably be wasting recruiting dollars if they are trying to recruit these Utah athletes to out-of-state schools.
