A first teamer along with KK, Houston, and Mason. Sanders deserves to be first team but might be a 2nd teamer along with Lee.

Gregory should be in there BEFORE Sanders. KK was not POY material this year. I say we give it to Kim Willoughby again. Mason -- oh, God, yes yes yes...in every category, esp. swimsuit and nightgown competitions Houston -- yes, but tell her to cut down on her errors Jayme Lee -- yes
FOY -- I don't know if Kaufman played enough to qualify. Give it to Kim W again.

I don't see why Gregory should get 1st team over Sanders. In WAC only matches she leads in hitting percentage (.368-.335) and blocks (1.53-1.48) over Gregory.
Also I don't think Lee will earn All-WAC honors, maybe All-Freshman team honors, but not 1st or 2nd team. I think Schull from SJSU (5.94 dpg-WAC only) and Torres from NMSU (5.35 dpg-WAC only) make it in ahead of Lee. Not saying she doesn't deserve it, but she likely won't get it.
Wolfgang is right about Kamana'o, she has not been player of the year material this year, but I just don't see anyone unseating her. Should NMSU had won in Honolulu I think Choi would've gotten it, but they didn't which leaves Kanoe with her 3rd WAC Player of the Year award.
Freshman of the year will probably go to Utah State's Amanda Nielsen. In WAC play only, she's 3rd in points (4.93), tied for 7th in blocks (1.18), and 7th in kills (4.07). I'd like to see Kaufman get it but her stats have steadily gone downward as the season has gone on.

If Kamana'o doesn't get POY, I think it'll be because of Hawaii's passing problems this year. It's hard to run a good offense and make good sets when you're chasing the ball all over the court. I think she's at least a lock for the first team, though.

First Team Gregory (Hawaii) Houston (Hawaii) Kamana'o (Hawaii) Mason (Hawaii) Sanders (Hawaii) Sipherd (Nevada) Choi (New Mexico St.) Borden (New Mexico St.) Oguh (New Mexico St.) Simpson (New Mexico St.) Senftleben (San Jose St.) Shull (San Jose St.)
Second Team Flunder (Boise. St) Bowman (Idaho) Curtis (Idaho) Sode (Idaho) Erikson (Nevada) Johnson (Nevada) Callis (New Mexico St.) Torres (New Mexico St.) Conrad (San Jose St.) Clement (San Jose St.) Nielson (Utah St) Hodge (Utah St.)
Nielson and Senflteben can be switched ... Fresno and LaTech get no love.

When do they announce it? The WAC banquet is Tuesday night in Reno. I assume it is like the Academy Awards and they find out 'on the spot'? Or are they forewarned?

As for Lee, I hope she gets at least All-Freshman honors. Kaufman's stats have gone down as the season wore on, so I don't think she'll be recognized.
