Most of the time, the Player of the Year award goes to the most outstanding player on the 1st place team. If that holds true then the award will go to a Cal Poly player and probably will go to Atherstone, but my vote for this year is Alicia Waller.
The former TCA club player transferred to Cal Poly this year as a sophomore after a rather uneventful freshman year at SDSU when their roster had a cast of thousands. Cal Poly has a good season this year without her but with her, they win the conference.
She made the difference in adding talent to an already talented team. In my estimation, she was the league's most valuable player.

Saw Cal Poly once, v. UCSB at San Luis. Thought Atherstone the best player on the court. Hitting front and back row from the right really opened up the court. Played like a man with right back row hits. Unusual for the womans game.

Waller??? No way. First of all the MVP should be Crimes, as nobody can stop her, except her setter... Secondly, the MVP of Cal Poly is Chelsea Hayes. Atherstone is second, but Hayes is the one that makes that team go. Sorry.

Combining talent/athleticism and politics points toward Crimes.
