Washington looks like a team ripe for a second road loss. With a win over the Huskies, the Bears probably deserve a top 16 national seed and a sub-regional. Even if the Bears lose, Cal and USD are both reasonable candidates to host Hawai'i if (as most expect) the Rainbow Wahine are sent to the mainland (I'd make Cal a slightly stronger candidate because USC and UCLA are likely to host sub-regionals and Arizona and Arizona State... natural geographic non-conference opponents for the Toreros... aren't going to make the tournament). Hawai'i and USD are both too good to be sent to USC, UCLA or Stanford... wouldn't it be interesting if the NCAA sent both of them to Haas? That would be a sub-regional worth attending.

I don't know .. I just have this feeling that Hawaii will host 1st and 2nd rounds this year. Just an inkling.

No way they put 3 top 25 teams in the same subregional.

Can't say off hand but there have been some tough regionals out West due to geographical gatherings, with ranking around 25 only getting third wheel, so to speak. Might get Oregon in with Hawaii and San Diego, if the other reasoning holds true. It's about time San Diego got to host a sub regional, but of course, who's going to attend the party?
