A lot has been made of Nebraska's "weak" schedule. While it's not nearly as strong as say a Texas this year, or NU's last year, its not as bad as many have made it seem to be. Although, I will admit that part of that perception comes from the fact that they didn't have any tough road matches. (non-conference) but anyway here are the results now that the season is done.
San Diego 24-5 WCC Champions Cal Poly 22-5 Big West Champions LBSU 24-5 Big West Runner-Up Minnesota 23-7 Big 10 Runner-Up Louisville 25-6 Big East Runner Up, Tourney Champion MiTenSt 26-7 St. Mary's 11-17 or something like that

yea...that almost convinced me. nice analysis, but still....weak. doesnt matter tho. nebraska is still #1. they'll still be the top seed. and deservedly so. and the final four is still in nebraska. the schedule didnt affect nebraska at all. too bad they had to play colorado at colorado.

Very representative non conference schedule, compared to many Pac 10 and Big 10 teams; also, very few real cupcakes, none withRKPI above 150 or 100 or whateverr; one reason why they stay #1 in RKPI polls.

I was not implying it was the strongest schedule ever, I was simply stating it wasn't the huge cupcake schedule many were making it out to be.

It's a pretty fine balancing act to build your team and then plan the best non-conference schedule. Most coaches are not in a position to know how to do this when the expectations are that no one else is as good as you are. The only thing Cook could have done was to schedule all the top teams in the Pac 10, the Big Ten etc. That is not going to happen.

It happened in 2005 with Nebraska. Two wins over Minnesota. Sweeps of Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State.

Nebraska doesn't have to justify anything. The Huskers are a Volleyball powerhouse... membership has its rewards, unless you are Hawai'i.

Unfortunately you have to move Oahu closer to the mainland for your rewards BiK.

It happened in 2005 with Nebraska. Two wins over Minnesota. Sweeps of Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State. We only played Minnesota once. It went to five games at Minnesota. Inadvertently we also played 3 Pac-10 teams including the conference champion, WAC champion, and Big East Runner-up. Unfortunately, we lost the one that mattered the most. And yes I realize most of those matches were at home, but still a nice schedule for the home folks.
