The VT 2006 NCAA Championship Contest
ENTRY DEADLINE: 10:00 a.m., California time, Thursday, November 30. This Contest includes all matches through the Championship and no changes may be made after the Nov. 30 deadline. The winner of this Contest is whomever picks the most winners of the 63 matches. Please copy and paste using the below format instead of improvising. The change in the two tiebreakers was made at the request of SaltNPepper to facilitate the administration of his one-on-one contest to be posted on a different thread. If needed, the THIRD TIEBREAKER WILL BE WON BY THE ENTRY/MODIFICATION POSTED FIRST.
Please scroll down and look at Reply #5 to this thread to see an example of the correct way to complete an entry in this contest. This refers to the process, not the teams chosen.

May I suggest two separate contests for rounds 1/2 and 3/4. That's gonna hurt my brain to figure this one out.

Howzabout a compromise: If there are a lot of upsets in the first two rounds, then we can have another contest for the remaining matches. But if the seedings pretty much stay intact, then I won't start another one. However, you or anyone else are certainly free to run another contest whenever you want. ;D
Meanwhile, play hurt if you have to!

Why not use a bracket managing site like www.bracketmaker.com ? We used it last year for predicting our HS state playoffs, and it worked very well. The site manages the whole thing for you and, best of all, it's free. It looks like someone started to set up the tournament on the site, but hasn't finished and/or didn't understand how to do it properly. Sorry for posting and running, but I gotta go. I'll be back in a couple hours if anyone has any questions about it. (P.S. I'm not shilling for the site, it's just a question/suggestion)

I found it easiest to download the printable version of the brackets found at www.ncaasports.com/volleyball/womens/brackets/viewable/straight64_dyn/2006/DI picking the "obvious" first and second round picks, and then working backwards, starting with the Final Four and then filling in the holes. Then use the completed chart to fill in the VT contest spaces. Primopik: Yes, that is the the proper way to fill out the contest entry (not saying anything about your choices, of course). joelantagne: Your first 32 choices and tiebreakers are fine; but for contests 33-48, please type in the name of the winning teams instead of the team number; and also complete contests 49-63 by writing in the winning teams' names before the Nov. 30 deadline. eastiveball: I took a really quick look at the link you posted and concluded that it would take much more of my time I could spare. If you or someone else wants to set it up immediately, please PM me. In the meantime, I presume others will enter the contest on this board. Making all of the tournament 63 match choices in advance of the first round is no different that it was last year, except last year Odin had it computerized. Unfortunately, this year Odin let me know he did not have the time to do it and that is why it is formatted as it is.
