It has been brought to my attention that the seeding of all 64 entrants in this contest would not be consistent with the spirit of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament selection and seeding process. Therefore, I am considering making the following changes:
I will appoint a Seeding Committee of 9 VT’ers to complete the bracketing of this contest. I will be solely responsible for who is on this committee and I will chair the committee myself. The remaining members of this Seeding Committee shall be comprised primarily of VT’ers that don’t have a lot of interest in the One-On-One Contest or contests in general.
Only 16 of the contestants that enter the One-On-One Contest will be seeded based upon the following criteria. Season long performance in the weekly Pick-The-Winners contest shall be a major factor in the selection of these 16 seeds. However, the Seeding Committee may using additional information including but not limited to 1) additional emphasis on late season results (or early season results); 2) Factors like cool sounding names or a nice play on words (like SaltNPepper) - what constitutes a “nice play on words” shall be based solely of the feelings of the members of the Seeding Committee; 3) Any other reasons we decide that could offer pseudo-justification for manipulation of the apparent proper seeds. The balance of the contestants shall be placed in brackets with total disregard to the apparent procrastinating skills (not to be confused with prognosticating skills) of the contestants. Additionally, the Seeding Committee will select 6 of the 16 seeded contestants and reverse the “higher seeded player advances rule” in their specific cases so that in the event any of those 6 contestants are ever tied with a lower seeded (or unseeded) contestant, the seeded contestant would advance to the losers bracket.
