OK for sh*ts and giggles, if the AVCA was picking the Top 16 seeds would probably look like this:
1. Nebraska 8. Texas (host) 9. MN 16. LSU
2. Stanford 7. Florida (host) 10. Wisconsin 15. California
3. Washington (host) 6. USC 11. Utah 14. Cal Poly
4. UCLA 5. Penn St 12. HI (host) 13. Oklahoma
This is actually far better than what the committee decided as Purdue are no where to be found here and Ohio St and San Diego are just on the outside.

Purdue's weekend against MN and WI must have really impressed the NCAA committee.

What a surprise, Florida drops in points again.

This poll shows how crazy it is to put Cal, LSU and Cal Poly in the same opening bracket!

If you follow this Stanford got a tough subregional; all four within the top 31 of the coaches poll. And Hawaii has all four within the top 32. And Washington 4 within the top 34. Cal Poly has 3 of 4 in top 16. UCLA 3 in top 32. Meanwhile Purdue, Ohio State and Wisconsin have 1 other top 32 team in their sub-regional, Penn State and Minnesota none. Think the Big 10 getting a break here.

That's because MN has to travel go to the east coast instead of hosting to play some cupcakes to prepare them for FL!

I'm not trying to be biased here, but there is no way that Washington, being picked as the #3 team in the country nationally by the coaches, should be the #6 overall seed in the tourney. I can understand making an argument for UW-UCLA (who deserves it more) but seeding USC above UW and Penn State above all 3!?! that's BS. UW should have had the right to host rounds 1 and 2

Except they did it this way so the Pac10 could, in essence, have 3 #1 seeds. This works out better for UW, but it _really_ works out better for UCLA/USC.
PSU? Not so much.

Pablo has Wash at #4 this week, and Penn St is ranked above them, UCLA, and USC
The difference between the #4 - #7 teams is very small.
The exact seedings in this region are debatable, but nothing near an outrage.

Congratulations on NMSU's move into the Top 20 (to #19 from #21). Now they've got to perform in the first round. Go Aggies!

How the heck does NMSU move up to 19th after losing again to Hawaii, yet the Wahine are still at #12? That just makes no sense at all.... not sure if the Aggies can get over Colorado. Nuu is another great setter out there who can cause problems.... There's obviously a reason why Nebraska lost to them...

Would someone be interested in seeding the next 48 teams and placing them in a bracket just to see how they would fit regionally? I'm curious, but don't have the time.
