It just occurred to me that Taylor Barnes wasn't anywhere on the list. Obviously a winning record and team hitting percentage are the biggest factors, and the establishment clearly considers Holloway the top setter. But if I had a choice, I would take Barnes as a setter over Nu'u, Jackson, or Moriarty.

I wonder if the fact that Nu'u and Jackson are seniors (Moriaty is a junior) had anything to do with it since Taylor Barnes is just a freshman.

Yes, I agree T. Barnes is one of the top 2 setters in the conference and should have made this list but it looks like they went with upperclassmen who are also deserving. I think in the next years she will get her due and be a dominate setter in the league. She has the best location, the best setter attack, best serve and will probably be the best before everything is said and done.

I don't think making All-Big 12 honorable mention is something negative! The Big 12 is a top 3 conference for goodness sake. She's a solid setter. Not All-American caliber but close. Engle is the only all-american caliber setter on the team but they need her hitting. Andrews is not good enough in my opinion.

Andrew was rated one of the top setters in the country last summer when she was at the Olympic Training Center. They sent Michelle home really early, said she was too short and could not block. They liked Andrew's all around game. Andrew, Lindsey Hunter, and Sam T. were the top setters. Andrew was all region in her region her freshman year for the NCAA Tourney. She was also 2nd on the team in BLOCKS as a freshman, which is something Texas could really use right now. So I think she is plenty good
