So, I'm debating what to do for the tournament. I'm going to bail out on some work to see as much as possible (I have hundreds of hours of comp time built up). In volleyball's current setup, what would be the ideal setup to catch all the action? - Big screen TV with digital cable/satellite to catch as many real broadcasted matches as possible (what, 2?)
- While matches were not in play, gametracker-type views on screen
- Several friends, even a rival or two each with their own PC to A) listen to their own teams, B) chat on VT, and C) play networked video games during downtimes, and D) to get Quick analysis of the matches
Did I mention nice comfy chairs? Ok, of the above, I have one PC. Looks like I can't host the party, but I do most of the above if available. How do YOU watch NCAA volleyball?

Head to the bar. Drink for 5-6 hours. Come home and check RonKern.com for the scores.

Ooooh... Check this out!!! www.richkern.com/vb/NCAA/FillBracket.aspThis is an automated bracket, updated as results come in. It deserves a big screen all by itself during the tournament!! Oh!! And Rich Kern is making it FREE!!

Well, I always need some sort of beverage to calm the nerves. During conference tournaments it was a nice white from Espana, but usually it's a great big red.
And some popcorn. And something to do if I start getting superstitious... like laundry or homework or something I can do in front of the TV or PC.
Best option is to travel. I was really hoping one of my teams would end up in Lincoln... I want to see a match there someday!!!

"How do YOU watch NCAA volleyball? "
Normally I listen to the scratchy radio broadcast, and wish I was there.
This year I finally get to GO to the NCAA tournament. I won't have to give money to friends to buy me a tournament shirt - I can buy it in person! (They better have shirts, dang it!)

Dude, it's the 21st century now. Buy a ton of food and drinks. Buy a router or a wireless access point (both cheap these days) and have a LAN party. Everyone can bring a computer or laptop and set them up to show different video streams. Spend 8 hours walking around watching each stream however long you want.

I wouldn't have to buy any LAN setup equipment... I can accomodate a good deal of computers with my current setup.

Hundreds of your best friends watching any of the matches they desire in an I-Max style giant screen facility.
Imagine what the ESPN "boom cam" could do for you in that environment!
*cough*
