Pepperdine swept UCSD 30 - 16 , 30 - 25 , 32 - 30 Fred Winters had 13 kills , Brad Keenan had 11 kills and 10 blocks , Sean Rooney had 9 kills , Mike Gledhill had 7 kills and 7 blocks , Andy Webb had 5 kills hitting .625. The Waves hit .354 and UCSD hit .128 and Pepperdine outblocked UCSD 15 - 4 . Waller and Young for UCSD both had 14 kills. UCSD came out really slow and not looking very formidable in game 1 but regrouped and played Pepperdine tough for games 2 and 3. Don't get too friendly with the Hawaiins Cruisin!!

Hey vbdad1,
EVERYONE gets friendly with the Hawaiian fans, me included. However, when Pepperdine or BYU plays against them, they're "toast."
Pep is building momentum now and I'm glad that our new guys are starting to improve & step up. There's still room for improvement, but there is a lot of season left. Barring any injuries, Pep will be "top of the heap" again by tournament time. Did you see where I predicted that the two MPSF teams going to the Finals will either be BYU, Pepperdine, UCI or Hawaii? I'll narrow that down to two in a few weeks.
I've only missed one prediction so far this season (Stanford splits Hawaii recently) when I said UH would sweep Stanford. The predictions are all in fun...no betting please. ;D
