speaking of Kari, had she allready redshirted, or did Mary Wise basically just waste a year of her eligibility? By the time they realized she wasn't gonna be fully recovered this year, it was too late to redshirt her as she appeared in too many matches, even if her total playing time adds up to like 30 plays this year. It's just taken way longer than they anticipated for her to heal. She should've redshirted and I know the coaches wish they could go back and do that, but it is what it is. Could they request a medical redshirt from the NCAA? Not sure how it all works since she appeared in matches, but am just curious.

It was mentioned in a recent Hawaii article that this year counts against Thomas and Jessica Keefe's eligibility. Only Tara Hittle is eligible to petition for a medical redshirt year. That's according to the article.

That's according to the article. In the strictest of senses, that is true. Nickie is eligible, if the University pursues it, for a petition for reactivation of a year of eligibility due to medical hardship. Jessica is not eligible for that.

How are all americans picked? Is it only the teams that get to the top get people on it? This thread is really just a "who would you like" rather than a prediction thread. However - AVCA All-American selections come in a two-step process. The first step is selecting 8 regional teams of 12 players each (with 6 honorable mentions per region) as selected by a committee for each region. The second step is selecting the 3 All-American teams of 12 players each primarily from the all-region teams (with limited possibility of a regional HM selection making 3rd team AA).
