Is it true that Mira Djuric of Oregon will transfer? I know that coach Moore has secured another Serbian (not certain of Serbian team she played) player for 2007, she comes from a division 2 university in Michigan, is this commom transferring from division 2 to divison 1?
From sources close to volleyball in PNW I have been told that an investigation of the Washington championship is possibility in the aftermath of meeting bewteen UW officials and coach Mclaughlin after finals; it has ben said that many complaints made by coaches claiming that outside hitter Tomasevic was playing in A1 league in Belgrade and new contract documentation has been found and that she should have been ruled ineligible and not allowed to compete in american university.
I think this was topic in past, perhaps this is old news?

If NCAA strips UW of championship, they are throwing pie in their own face since they are the group that granted her extra year of eligibility.
I've not heard about Djuric, but it seems odd she would transfer. I'd not be surprised if another foreign player is lying in wait for Oregon as it is. With current age of 9th grade commitments, all of the high-caliber players have typically committed before a coach can 'snag' them.

there is no investigation, pnwvb likes to bring this up every time uw has a big match with implications on the line, last time was before the stanford match to determine the pac10 championship.

Can't speak to the other two issues, but I know Oregon has a transfer from a DII school, Northwood, I believe, and I think she is a 6'2" OH. She was in school and practicing this fall.

Djuric has already been taken off the Oregon roster, so I guess she is looking elsewhere

Wow, this could be a big blow for Oregon. I wonder where she would transfer to... Suprising too, after having such a good season there

Oregon has the nicest looking volleyball unis in the country, why would anyone want to trade them in for another, less attractive one.

I was wondering though is Djuric really going to transfer to another school, or is she just going home to pursue a professional career. I thought I had read in an article that she doesn't like living in the US, or words to that effect.

According to the article in the Oregonian, the reason for her transfer is that Oregon doesn't offer Athletic Training as an undergraduate major.

I don't think this is a really big blow to U of O. Mira is probably going to end up in the South or East part of the US in another D1 program. She did not find Eugene very fun as a social mecca after growing up in Europe, and did not feel her contributions at Oregon were very appreciated. Gorana is amazing and will step in and contribute next year without missing a step. She enjoys Eugene a lot. The team is getting some good chemistry going and should be strong next year. Lets hope the new recruits can contribute what this year's did.
