I like how you can use Akinradewo as a curse word when Stanford scores. More names should be like that.
I can't wait until Blatt starts setting Vatterrodt.

That Akinradewo, she's something. If Stanford would have passed consistently during the finals to set up Foluke, Stanford would have won.....................

That Akinradewo, she's something. If Stanford would have passed consistently during the finals to set up Foluke, Stanford would have won..................... She had 39 attacks with the passing Stanford had so Kehoe did a darned good job of getting her the ball. The only player on the Stanford team that had more attacks was Barboza with 40 attacks. Arguably, if Kehoe needed to get anyone the ball more often it was Waller who hit 0.394 as an outside for the match as opposed to Akinradewo who hit 0.282 a middle.

And the aa? Is that just ah? So Okaba? There's an "o" between the "k" and the silent "g" so you can't pronounce it as "a". Doof.

Kehoe did have good recognition and she set Waller a ton after game one. I don't think she could have gone to Waller more to get more results. Maybe Richards could have taken more swings from the backrow. As for USC, I think they could be stronger next season despite losing Seilhamer. The big glaring weakness for SC is their middle attack/block and sometimes their outsides. They can remedy that w/ strong incoming recruits. UCLA returns some good players but again their lack of a star on the outside will hold them back. Their returning outsides would have to step up big time.

I'm always wary of relying on freshmen to provide an instant offensive/blocking boost. It's a very rare freshman who can do that. Again - I saw Zoe Garrett play and she's certainly got skills but I'm not sure she'll be an offensive juggernaut in her first season.

The Cardinal had 4 players with 30+ attacks which was very good distribution on Kehoe's part given the circumstances.
Richards had some success out of the back row, I guess Kehoe could have gone to her some of the 40 times she went to Barboza. That said, Richards herself only hit 0.176 for the match so I'm not sure how much better that would have been.
Nebraska was simply playing some of their best defense and hitter covereage of the season over the course of their final 3 matches
As for next year - Stanford pretty much always seems to be one of the top teams in the country. They might have a bit of a slow start next season working in Klineman and a new libero but I don't think there's much doubt they'll be one of the top Pac-10 teams by the end of the season and well prepared for the tournament.
