1. Stanford 2. Nebraska 3. Texas 4. Penn State 5. Spoiler - Cal Poly. Whoever gets them in their bracket will be upset and Cal Poly will go to the final four.

what a shocker....NO ONE has even thought about putting Long Beach State in any top five....you could probably extend that to 30 or so and maybe find one or two.... welcome to the D-list, Beach!....

uscyaa, what the hell is your problem?!?!?!?!
Every time Beachman makes a comment (positive, negative, rude, nice, or whatever), you immediately post a nasty comment about LBSU. Why the need to insult the Beach program/team/school?
We're all aware that LBSU has not been as successful as in the past, so there is no need for you to disrespect the Beach players, coaches, and fans, with your negative remarks. If you have issues with Beachman's posts, than stick to the subject matter being discussed, and dispute whatever you don't agree with.
Once again why the need to insult the players and the whole Long Beach community, trust me these kids are no different than the players at the school you support (just different uniform colors).
Remember Beachman is just one person, and does not represent the entire Beach program anymore than you the USC program.
And as far as his comment on this thread, what the hell is wrong with it? I'm sure the majority of the people on this board agrees with him, both SC and UCLA will not be as good as this past season. As for Long Beach, who knows, but I have a feeling that they will be much better next year.
peace

I'd like to see if the MWC can challenge -- Utah, specifically. Maybe not the top 5. But right there, pushing them. The word from Colorado Springs is that Air Force is posed for a serious run...

Yeah I heard that from the Air Force coach this weekend. I would be stoked to see that. It's a long shot. But back to the MWC, Utah should be really good this up coming season. They have lost no starters and are losing only one player. Returning two all americans. What's great about this team is that they can go to anyone at anytime. Toone and Baird in the middle, with Webb, Salvo, and Lovell on the pins. Or Anderson can put in away easily with a dump. They're also gaining a 6'6" girl from Cali to go along with 6'7" Toone and a couple other great players. I wouldn't be surprised if they make some noise in the next tournament. Go UTES

A very very long shot... Air Force is my favorite men's athletic program, and while i like Tennessee VBall more than AFA Vball, it was painful to read about them getting swept over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...
I would like to get a chance to actually see Utah. I think i only got one Utah match all season, and that's WITH direcTV. Hopefully by next fall though the Moutain West Network will actually get picked up...

Although Air Force gets swept over and over again, they never give up. They fight all the way to the last point and never give up. I respect them for that because that would be very, very hard to do

Gotta be a tough job coaching there-your recruiting is so limited. They are not good at volleyball, and probably never will be, but I respect them so much as people, athletes and students.

I don't think you can compare Air Force w/ Stanford in any way. Stanford has to be one of the most student-athlete-friendly schools out there.

Kehoe did have good recognition and she set Waller a ton after game one. I don't think she could have gone to Waller more to get more results. Maybe Richards could have taken more swings from the backrow. As for USC, I think they could be stronger next season despite losing Seilhamer. The big glaring weakness for SC is their middle attack/block and sometimes their outsides. They can remedy that w/ strong incoming recruits. UCLA returns some good players but again their lack of a star on the outside will hold them back. Their returning outsides would have to step up big time. I'm always wary of relying on freshmen to provide an instant offensive/blocking boost. It's a very rare freshman who can do that. Again - I saw Zoe Garrett play and she's certainly got skills but I'm not sure she'll be an offensive juggernaut in her first season. I'm not expecting an immediate star, I'm just hoping for someone who can make an impact and contribute in hitting and blocking. USC's MBs this season were such nonfactors. I'm really curious about Roleder. This past season USC had no one really to sub in if Copenhagen or Gysin struggled (which happened a lot). SC in 2007 should be improved. That being said, I think Stanford should be a level or two above everyone else in the Pac 10.

.....I think Stanford should be a level or two above everyone else in the Pac 10. Sort of like the 2003 USC ball-club. It is too bad Nebraska and Stanford can not hook up in the pre-season. Both teams will be awesome next year.
