I think about Busboom and all the roles NU has asked of her. In one year she became an outstanding libero. The combination of her and Jordan made the Husker defense the best it has ever been. Are we underestimating how big of loss this will be for the Huskers.

Busboom's loss will be bigger than I imagined at the beginning of the year. Cook needs to find a libero replacement, it's not Schwartz, she's not that good. What do we know about the imcoming kids in terms of finding a libero in that group??

My big complaint about Schwartz right now is that she reacts rather than anticipates. Busboom's setter experience was a huge factor in her ability to anticipate, IMO. Maybe Schwartz just needs more experience, but I don't know. I think that kind of feel for the game is either something you have or something you don't.
I think Busboom's loss next year is huge.

Busboom's loss will be big, that's given.
But are you sure about Schwartz? The times she was in to serve, she also dug well. Are you sure she didn't get play time because she can't do it, or because Libero rules allow you to have you best digger in there which was Busboom, while also having a better server rotate in?
If I have two good Liberos, I know I'm going to rotate in the better of the two as much as possible, but that doesn't mean I don't think the other Libero can't handle it, just that you keep your top dog in, with that spot.
They start practicing like they did last year, as soon as possible, Schwartz has great opportunity to step up.

My comment (which admittedly wasn't as clear as it could have been) was directed toward Schwartz's defense, not her serve receive. I think her serve receive is consistently better than Busboom's.
You may be right about more practice. We'll see. Believe me, I'll be first in line pulling for her to have a breakout season next year.

You guys need a freshman super walk-on DS to come out of nowhere... I think it's going to work great for us...
