Oh... it's not the best I can come up with... just the best that I wanted to come up with. Just an FYI. I went 3-days thinking Stanford won it all because I misread a post when trying to see who won... scary, itn't it?

I am looking forward to Pavan's graduation so she can hurry up and attend Med School so she can be my wife's pediatrician. Your wife is a little girl? That is supremely gross, even for you. I never saw it that way. Still very astute of you. I saw it as Wolfgang trying to show he is a young man.

For the record, Becky Pavan is Sarah's little sister. I believe she is an '09 recruit (but possibly '08 ).
Last club season a Big 10 recruiter told me that she was not as big or as strong or as talented as her sister, and may only be a 2-3 time All-American in college. I recently heard that she has grown 2-3 inches and is about 6'4" going into this season.
Given her sister's belief that "there is noplace like nebraska" and the considerable success that she has had there, I would imagine Sarah would help recruit her sister to NU.
Life after Pavan may not start as soon as you think.

My daughter played with Becky this summer at NORCECAs and have developed a good friendship (tall girl thing). Becky is a 2008 grad and is not interested in going to Nebraska.

SEC school is what I heard ?? Dunno. I hadn't heard anything about the SEC from Becks, but I don't know who the latest contenders are for her. Last I heard were some Big Ten names. Steph Neville just signed with FSU this past week, so maybe the thought of warmer climes is appealing to Becky as well!

Has anyone actually seen Licht play? Some Nebraska club coaches told me she has a lot of work to do to be ready to play at the level the Huskers are at. Being there at semester will help her for sure. I've watched her play all 4 years for Grandview HS as well as for Front Range. She is a big physical presence but she needs to fix her armswing to be able to play at Nebraska's level. Right now her armswing is too low and slow and she will get eaten alive by any kind of block. I have no doubt that the Husker coaching staff will get her straightened out and she will be a dominant player for 3 if not 4 years.

Were any of these Nebraska recruits on the Youth or Junior National teams. Other that Mueller, I don't recall any of these girls on any of the National teams. I think that it's a little premature to think that any of these girls are going to make an immediate impact at the NCAA level. There is a world of difference between highschool/club ball and top level NCAA volleyball. There are very few athletes like Pavan, Hodge, Barboza, Morrison, Larson, etc. that can come in and make an immediate impact. BTW, all of the athletes mentioned came in with international experience.
