Now we're really getting back there. Patti Snyder who went on to coach ASU was a DII player at Portland State in the late 70s who was about 5'4" and could really boing and bang. Rich Feller was her softball coach at Palo Alto HS. I'm not kidding.

Hows about Kenyatta Lovelace from Hawai`i did she ever make all-American because she was listed at 5' 8...and if I remember correctly wasn't she freshman of the year in 1990? Also Antonette White from Long Beach State was also only 5' 8. I'm pretty sure she made all-American as well, even national player of the year in 1991? Anyone can confirm that? Antoinette White was 5-8, and was national player of the year in 1991.

Kenyatta was the freshman of the year, but it was for Volleyball Monthly, which is what it was called back then. She never made All American....too bad, she was explosive. Lost some steam towards her senior year, but she was fun to watch. Anto was an All American, not sure exactly what year it was she made player of the year, but '91 sounds correct. She was a sophomore and a senior when she played here in Hawaii with LBSU. 1991 had Dani Scott in her breakout super sophomore year, with Nichelle Burton. That was when they began wearing those damn black uniforms. They were very intimidating looking for sure. Hawaii had cute little Rainbow uniforms and ribbons in their hair and looked cute, but when LBSU came around, it was pretty scary at that time.....not any more though. ;D
