It's my understanding that Alicia Johnson has decided to transfer from Iowa to Missouri State. Not that this was unexpected....A 5'9" or 10" outside hitter is problematic in the Big Ten. In fact it's probably going to be problematic in the Valley. Any other news on possible transfers? ?

Well unless she touches 10' plus she is problematic at any top 30 program!

Shannon Krug is transferring to Pacific from Utah. Stephanie Brandt of UCSB, and Mira Djuric from Oregon are the other transfers I am aware of. No word yet on what schools they plan to attend.

Why is Mira Djuric transfering? She seemed to have a good year in Oregon??

Re Djuric, there are other threads on this about a month ago, but in short, she has said she didn't really like the student atmosphere in Eugene, and the major she wanted was not offered at Oregon. She also seemed to get rotated out in the 6-2, at least some times, and I suspect she had some disagreements with the coach on using her dynamic jump serve, which was erratic. Don't know if she is planning on transfering to another Division 1 school.

She must have known that OSU didn't offer her major before she committed to them. As far as her erratic serve is concerned, she shouldn't have been using it until she learned to control it. Many times her dynamic serve almost took out fans in the stands.

Maybe she changed her major.

She won't terminate against UNI, WSU, or Creighton either. Then again, can you blame anyone for wanting to leave Iowa.

" Well, it ain't like Southern Missouri is a whole heap of a lot more scenic than Eastern Iowa. But, with Iowa bringing in a lot more height next year, she may have been hard pressed to see the floor. Also, Iowa has some very nice DSs for next year, including transfer Ingram from Kansas, who was seeing playing time at KU her freshman year, prior to being injured last year. Add in libero Hiza, and Eschew, Iowa will be chock full of DSs, so Alicia's time might have been pretty limited.

Actually very nice state. I was referring to getting out of the volleyball program.
