Hawaii is going to make it to the final four this year; possibly taking the championship and most definitely taking the championship next year but....I think this year is the most ideal time to take the trophy because they still have Hittle, Gregory, Sanders, Arnott, Thomas maybe Keefe??. 2008 will be challenging as right now I can't really predict how the chemistry will be as I don't know how ontineru will pan out....and of course other new ammo. But I think ultimately with Houston/Arnott on the left and Hittle/Thomas/Keefe on the right with Kaufman maybe being available for both RS and Middle - & Sanders/Gregory in the middle as well with Jaime/Recca in the back and mafua as setter ( I think with what shoji says about her she is promising) - with all the panned out chemistry starting strong in the beginning and not letting up - we are a contender. What do you guys think? Houston has started to fulfill the vision I had of her when she first came to Hawaii. After all the disappointment from last year and earlier this year - She brung it the tail end of the season. Watch out because this year will be the year Hawaii Fans have been waiting for since the 2002/2003 final four years.

FYI Don't be surprised to see Alicia Arnott absent from the roster come the fall.

Is "brung" a word? LOL!
As for the rest of this poster's prediction, I hope it comes true as do all Wahine fans, but in all likelihood a lot of what naitsric predicted won't come to pass. I don't see Arnott starting, at least as a hitter anytime soon. A lot of us still aren't sold on Hittle as we've yet to see her play healthy. We lose Mason, who I think is one of the best left-side blockers we've ever had in the program, not to mention she was the team's best server and passer this past season and of course Kanoe.
I think chemistry will be key, but to expect a national title or even a final four appearance may be a bit much right now. Top 10 or 15 yes, top 5 no. This team still has a lot of areas it needs to get better in before it can be mentioned in the same sentence as the words final four and national title.

To much "ice" for this kid. Sorry, I've been watchin the "Dawg". You guys loose so much with Kanoe and Cayley. Although Thurlby didn't play much, she was the heart of your team. Kanoe cool, calm leadership will sorely be missed on that court. I really don't think this will be Hawaii's year. It will be hard for anyone to beat Nebraska.
