They still haven't cashed my check. I'm worried that if they wait too long, they're going to have to deal with stale-dated checks. I've tried entering ticket lotteries for NCAA basketball, and they will cash checks and/or charge credit cards immediately. This practice supposedly yields additional revenue to the NCAA through interest income.

Yeah, but after 2006 there's nowhere to go but down. For Nebraska anyway. The thought of the Final Four returning to Lincoln North in 2008 already makes me queasy... please, NCAA, no more repeat (or near-repeat) hosting ever again.

Don't mean to be too negative on Sacramento. They have hosted numerous NCAA Basketball regionals and sub-regionals with multiple schools involved, and the building involved is the Kings home, so I firmly believe the finals will be a success (if Stanford gets revenge on Nebraska in the final). Just wish the tickets would move faster.

I've been to Arco a few times (the last time to see Kristin Folkl play basketball). It's OK, but the location is awful... out in the middle of nowhere with no mass transit access... and the parking and concessions were dreadfully expensive. At least their "park twice, pay twice" policy doesn't matter the way it does at a basketball sub-regional, which has two sessions on its first day.

I got another call from the ARCO Arena box office yesterday hitting me up for the additional $3.50. It was a different person (female when the previous caller was male). I stated that I had already sent it on Thursday or Friday. And my original $95 check still hasn't been cashed.

We went the Ticket Master route and our credit card was charged immediately. There was no place to request seat location, though.

So you're saying no city/facility should get to host more than one FF? Well - I don't know if there's a precedent for that. I think a lot of people were rather unhappy with how quickly the tickets were snapped up by Nebraska fans. If they ever do it in Nebraska again, then I would suggest they implement a lottery so that it's not simply a contest as to who can work TicketMaster the fastest.

So you're saying no city/facility should get to host more than one FF? If one includes both regionals and the Final Four, Nebraska hosted twice consecutively (and will have hosted three years of four). If one just includes the Final Four, Nebraska will (by 2008) have hosted twice in three years. I can just barely accept the "trial run" argument that let them host a regional in 2005... but that should have delayed their getting the Final Four again until at least 2009. Though a Stanford fan, I accepted the result on the court back in December... Nebraska was the better team that day... but allowing a perennial national championship contender like Nebraska to host the Final Four twice in three years was just plain wrong... it threatens the integrity of the championship. Even though it would make it harder (and more expensive) for me, I hope that no region of the country is allowed to host a Final Four more than once every four years.

Sadly, you can hold the Final Four at any high school gym in America (except Nebraska and Hawaii) and you still won't have a sell-out.

I also used a credit card and have been charged in the last month, then was charged another $5.00 with no explanation given. I am also not impressed by their organization and have received no other information other than the charges appearing on my credit statements.

Rotating the FF around the country makes sense. I thought you were suggesting that cities should not get to be a repeat host...ever. However, the NCAA needs to award Regionals to places where people will actually show up. The throng of 450 or whatever it was at College Station a couple years ago cannot be repeated.
