Just thought it was interesting that the Minnesota players, at their volleyball banquet, overwhelmingly chose Wisconsin as their favorite opponent.
Might have been the cheese talking, but still...

Paul Bunyan's Spandex. I shudder at the thought.
Somebody who was there, or has a copy, needs to tell me the correct wording. I think it was "Most-liked opponent"?

I think there might be a little more behind this than meets the eye. I know because Minnesota finished strong, that many may have forgotten how the season started. Maybe Minnesota feels like they owe the Badgers.

Perhaps ironic tone in the "Favorite opponent" category? Wasn't it Wisconsin who turned in Kelly Bowman and Malama Peniata for that illegal grass skirt volleyball tourney?

OK. I checked. It was "most liked."

That's where the most believable speculation has centered -- you could look up the tournament to see which Wisconsin players were there at that tournament, too. I'd bet money it's "most liked" as in "most liked to pound the stuffing out of."

But it's not. That's the point.
And should tell us something about the rumor...

You're thinking way too much. It's a great rivalry; always has been. They like to play Wisconsin because of that.

I'm not thinking too much. That's not what the category was. It wasn't "Who do you most like to play?" It was which opponent do you most like (and least like)?

Is it possible that Ruffda is not in the inner circle of everything that is going on at Minnesota. I know he has the scoop on just about everything, but I doubt Minnesota was hosting a love-fest at their end-of-the-year banquet in trying to determine which team they love to laugh and giggle with at the net.

Did they pick "Hawaii" for any category? This, after all, is the most important question.
