rocket, once again I ask what I ever did to you? Did I run over your puppy?
I do not pretend to be in the "inner circle". I have a piece of paper, from the banquet, that says what I have been posting. This is something they've done at every banquet for at least the last 8 years. Would you like to hear some of the other categories?
You want to interpret it another way? Fine. Be my guest.

I'm not thinking too much. That's not what the category was. It wasn't "Who do you most like to play?" It was which opponent do you most like (and least like)? Did you see the questionaire that the team filled out?? Maybe it said something about "liked to play" and whoever made the sheet up for the banquet just put liked.

And rocket's gone. Another driveby posting.
No, Weeble, I didn't.

It should also be noted that Wisconsin received votes for least liked and worst gym in which to play. One vote in each category. Purdue received the most votes for least liked and Iowa received the most votes for worst gym. Michigan was second in the worst gym category, probably something to do with dangling shoes.

I have absolutely no beef with you Ruffda, but I have to admit that I do find you amusing. I just find it interesting that a college team would be selecting their favorite conference team. I also find it just as interesting that they would publicly post the team they like the least, worst gym, etc. It almost comes off a little bit arrogant, but I suppose this is one of those "you just have to be there" type things. Honestly, Ruffda - no beef. Maybe I just like to see you get fired-up now and then. You are - without question - one of the best and most accurate posters on the board. And that is the truth...And I still don't believe the Gophers are all that fond of the Badgers.

It's just something fun they do for the banquet attendees. It has worst dancer, most likely to stay wild and single, etc.
I shouldn't have brought it up. I just thought it was interesting about the Badgers (since I feel/felt the same way you do). I don't think the "least liked" teams is something they appreciate seeing discussed here, for instance.
As for the other stuff, I just don't want to ever give the impression I'm some expert re Gopher volleyball. They're the closest volleyball team to me, so I know some stuff about them, and I've seen them play more than any other team, but that's it. Ask Boos. I'm just a run-of-the-mill dweeb (although not as big a dweeb as gorf).
I'm going to go wrassle with 38 Skynyrd for a while.

I agree, you shouldn't have brought it up. As I said, you're thinking way too much.

Without asking the players directly it is hard to say why they voted the way they did. My guess is that Wisconsin was most liked because of the border rivalry, the personal connections they may have from playing with and against each other over the years, the atmosphere that exists when they play each other, etc.

And Hawaii doesn't have ice fishing..so what?
Since I didn't go this year I suppose Gorf had more food on his plate..
and Wisconsin has been a traditional favorite opponent for some time.
Hawaii is just where we like to visit most.

Minnesota and Wisconsin..... have yet to win a National title. And Hawaii won their last title when Nixon was president.
