Hawaii also plays in the WAC. You get easy 18+ wins right there. Plus the All-WAC honors are guaranteed. Someone should slap the record player... it's repeating and playing out-of-date records.

Isn't Texas too low? Doris and Faucette were both top 5 recruits, right? Yes too low and most likely #2 class. Faucette is #2 and Doris is #3 overall. A late addition in 6'3" MB Elizabeth Graham adds even more depth to Texas in the middle. She received more votes on the 2006-2007 Lone Star All Texas Teams than Lauren Williams who is headed to USC.

Texas should be ranked #2.

I have seen a lot of these girls play, and I think the jury will be out on the Texas and USC recruiting classes for a while. On paper, Texas should be second, but the girls going to USC are mentally tougher as a group. Their problem will be getting court time, where Texas may just jump to youth. Over four years, the Stanford and USC classes of 2007, as well as Nebraska, are going to be the ones that make their marks, IMHO.

You can't judge a recruiting class until 3-4 years have passed.

Texas is #2 class. I think Baylor gets another top 20 class with this group. Sarah Grace, Top 50 recruit OH/L Ashley Byrd, 6-2 MB Top 50 Recruit Ashlie Christenson, 6' OH Haley Thomas, 6-2 MB, 1st team All-American JC, top point maker at Nationals. also a great walkon in Caitlyn Trice, 6' OH.
Wolfgang you're right you won't know how a recruiting class pans out till 2-3 years down the road but this is based on how the kids rank out of juniors.

Notice that Hawaii rarely seems to make the top ten recruiting lists, but always seems to finish there? That's just good coaching. How many of Hawii's top players in recent years have been transfers that wouldn't show up in recruiting class rankings for the Wahine?

I have always believed a great recruiting class makes an impact right away. The Texas trio may wait a couple of years before they are regulars on this team. A top recruiting class is one that is very talented, but also fits the definite needs of the program NOW.

Williams isn't going to be a huge impact player freshman year. Urango might have the biggest impact as a potential libero.

Both Doris and Faucette will have a shot at starting as freshmen with the loss of Acevedo and Todd. Magee, Paolini & Doris will battle for two spots. Magee is coming off knee surgery but should be at full strengh come August. Faucette and Christian will duke it out, Destinee is locked in at the #1 OH position. Adding the Doris/Faucette combo with Engle/Hooker will be fun to watch for the next 3 years.

I know they don't get talked about as much as some of the Pac 10 and Big 10 teams but Ohio University has a pretty incredible class coming in:
Michelle Jantsch....one of top setters in the entire class out of KC Melissa Sktutnik...big jumper, top 50 kid in the nation Sue Jacobi...Kiva kid I saw this weekend for the first time...she is a stud' Transfer Meghan Simons, 6'3" MH who was leading Ohio State in hitting before she got hurt...fab 50 out of high school
That is 4 kids, all in the top 50 in the nation overall, not too bad for a "mid major", guess they are in the top 25 but still.

Jacobi is definitely over looked, she is a stud.

1) Stanford 2) Texas 3) Minnesota 4) USC 5) Nebraska 6) UCLA 7) Florida 8) Purdue 9) Illinois 10) San Diego

shouldn't rank recruiting classes until they are sophs. Why? At least the rankings out of high school are upfront that they are just predictions. You can't truly rank them untill they are done playing. Ranking them after the freshman year is like trying to act like a legit ranking (like after they are done playing) when really it's almost as much of a prediction as ranking them before they start playing.

It doesn't matter if Texas brings the entire top 5 recruits in the nation. They don't know what to do with them, and if y'all think I'm wrong. Can you tell me when was the last time they won a Big XII title??? or a NCAA championhsip???
