What's the big deal about players deciding to transfer? It's their lives and their decisions to make regardless of how many of them transfer from a particular school in the same off season. Not all players fit well with all coaches. There are many players that wouldn't be able to deal with playing for a coach like Chuck Erbe (I refer to him because he isn't actively coaching) yet many players excelled with him as their coach. A friend of mine played for him on the undefeated USC team back in the late 70s (77?) and she's had very good things to say about him as a coach and a person. Because it's bound to piss someone off... "For every action there is a reaction" - Beethoven, or George W. Bush, one of the two I know that.

I think it might have being "for every action there is an equal and opposite criticism".

I am a UCLA student, and I could have sworn I saw Jordan with the rest of the volleyball team just yesterday. This rumor comes as a complete shock to me, and I find it very hard to believe. Of course I can't speak for the team, but I was at the Final Four, and they all seemed pretty cohesive to me.

I've known a lot of players shocked about what had happened to them according to gossip from sources like VT.... you can't take it all as truth here.

Oh I know, I'm just surprised that such a rumor would even start up. Especially one concerning Jordan in a negative light. She's been described to me by a mutual friend as one of the sweetest and most genuine persons he's ever met.
Plus, she had a lot of playing time this season, so I don't see why she would need to transfer to be able to play more.

I know, I'm just surprised that such a rumor would even start up. Part of me isn't surprised because of how deep the roster is at UCLA. Lots of really solid players won't get playing time, so if one small core of girls decides to transfer to play, several others might do similar.

GoBruin, thanks for the confirmation. However, I respectfully disagree that anytime you lose 4 players, scholarship or not, it's not a big deal. I think losing 20% of your team in one year to anything but graduation is a big deal. I hope those players find happiness somewhere else. I am, in no way, "confirming" this rumor. I am only pointing out that Jordan Smith is a walk-on. BTW, most of the walk-ons who have left the UCLA program in the past, have not transferred. They just left the team, and stayed in school.

UCLA carries way too many kids anyway...a few leaving might make them stronger as a team, depending on who is leaving of course. Doesn't really matter anyway, without Nana next year they have a HUGE hole to fill.

Doubt Beethoven really cared about physics.

Fig didn't do squat, but I'll concede the fact that it may or may not have been van Gogh.
