Eight players -- four men and four women -- are stuck in Albany after their flights were canceled Wednesday because of the snowstorm. That's according to a member of the staff at the Los Angeles-based AVP, operators of the pro beach tour in the U.S. The AVP's Keith Dobkowski says the players and event support staff are likely to be in Albany until Friday. images.capitalnews9.com/media/2007/2/14/images/01_avp2.jpg [/img] Players stranded Some professional beach volleyball players are getting a taste of winter after bringing a slice of summer to downtown Albany. Olympic gold medal winner Kerri Walsh was among the players who competed in an exhibition tournament Tuesday night at the Times Union Center, just hours before the storm hit the area. Even as the event ended, the players were wondering if their flights would be grounded by the weather. Their fears turned out to be true, as blowing snow force most airlines to cancel their departures.
