Ok, club season is now in full swing with the first big tournaments of the year being played this past weekend (Omaha and Vegas). Who do people think is going to come out on top this year in 17's and 18's?
I'm figuring it's going to come down to Long Beach and Spri (surprise) in the 18's with a good run by Epic.
17's I think is wide open. Thoughts, opinions, editorials . . . ?

Mizuno Long Beach will be there at the end in some way. Not sure what TCA was doing in Vegas, but 11th place is a bizarre finish. Epic is good, and after that you have to figure out who's going to get better. Vision has a lot of talent. 17s I think will be a non-California affair.

Kentucky has 2 very strong 17s in KIVA and MAVA.
TCA 18s lost alot with Carico and Moss. Bateman is running the show, and is no where near being as talented as Taylor C.

being as talented as Carico would be impressive to say the least. I could see KIVA coming away with the 17s title possibly against SPRI but don't see Fusion far behind. That one is probably going to be a Mid-West showdown.
Anyone have thoughts on 16's? From what I have seen and heard, there is a lot of talent spread around the country now. NASA made some noise this weekend winning their tournament in 18 power and I expect the normal teams to do well in this age group as well.

They move them up to 18s.

Seeing as how Northern Lights won the 17's last year, and returns the entire team, they're looking pretty solid.
They lost a total of one game in Omaha, and obviously won their age division.

I'm not saying NL 18's are going to win it but they should be in evey discussion involving the top 4-5 teams. They don't have the best player in the country but they are a very balanced team.

KIVA also has a very strong 16s team and was the same team who won JOs last year as 15s.

since we all have been picking the winners or who we think will be doing good, how about the darkhorses? a few years ago it was munciana upsetting long beach. who is flying way under the radar that people don't know about? texas tornados might make a good run and possibly even fusion. oh, and epic doesn't qualify. when you have the #2 recruit on your team your a pretty much disqualified from being a darkhorse.

NL 18s won Crossroads 18 Open this weekend, again only losing 1 game -- that coming in the final, to Vision. They won game 3 15-9. It's been an impressive run for these girls over the last two-three years.

Out of the Great Lakes Power League, Illini Elite 17s are leading the way in Power League (among the 17s). Fusion has their 2 best 17s playing on their 18s.
