Anyone smell Barboza and Larson for the 08 olympics? How about Foluke or Stalls?

Anyone smell Barboza and Larson for the 08 olympics? How about Foluke or Stalls? Even if they are not on the court, they need Larson and/or Barboza to make the roster to get the experience to help for 2012 when they should be at their peak physically.

So now that tryouts are over, when will players find out if they made the training squad?

Can anyone provide some insight on how well the setters performed at the tryout? Can you list them in order of their probablity of making the team?

Anyone smell Barboza and Larson for the 08 olympics? How about Foluke or Stalls? Foluke and Stalls won’t be on the 2008 roster, unless there is an injury. Bown and Scott have locked up the middle positions and Bachman will likely be the back up for them. If they continue to train with the national team, they are definitely an option for 2012.

And Joines is probably next in line. She has already played in several tournaments for Team USA.... plus getting some good experience in Italy right now.
Team USA needs left side hitters who can pass.... Barboza and Larson. Now that Larson has her national championship, I'm really hoping she won't hesitate to train with the national team.... even if it does keep her away from Husker volleyball for a while.

Just curious - do many candidates tend to go multiple times to be evaluated, and when you are finally a seasoned graduated type person, make the team? Or do players tend to need to be a wonderkin their first time, because you only get one chance at an invite?

How many outside hitters is the coach looking to add? I assume there is a core of returnees. Also interested to know who looked best among the setters?

Can anyone explain the point of this? How many players do they choose to go on training with the National team? Why is Lindsey Hunter, who is already training with the team, pictured in these tryouts?
Also, didn't they previously hold a tryout in the midwest? I thought I had seen that Nana Meriwether, Jessica Vander Kooi and Debora Seilhamer (who are playing for the same team in Peurto Rico) listed at a previous tryout...

good to see former opponents smiling with each other, : in fact, from what i read, CT and Jillian Davis have really hit it off.

Cynthia Barboza described three very intense days that (as discussed on the USA Volleyball site) included group scrimmages. I don't see how USA Volleyball would have been able to do that in earlier tryouts away from Colorado Springs.

When will players be notified if they have not already? What direction is USA volleyball going with trying to find left side attackers that can do it all.....pass, defend and terminate not to mention block a slide or two. Lastly someone earlier asked about setters, anyone hear anything?

I think it said on usavolleyball.org that the decision would be made on March 9th, but I could be wrong.
