Not that I am a Penn State, as a matter of fact I am far from it, however I am curious to know who they are recruiting for 2008. With Holloway's departure, they should have at least 3 scholarships for 2008, and I haven't heard of any the remaining top recruits showing interest in PSU. Any info is helpful

The problem with the Penn State 2008 class is that recruits realize that they won’t see significant playing time. So it’s hard to convince a top prep player to attend your program when they know that they will likely sit on the bench while other programs may have a better opportunity for them to start almost immediately. With their top recruiting class for 2006, they already have Hodge and Fawcett on the outside. Harmotto in the middle. Possibly Glass at opposite. Yanz will have been the starting setting for 2 years.
So, they will likely get their players, but they likely wont be that top tier like they did in 2006.

I think we will continue to see the wealth spread around more and more as volleyball grows as a sport.

I heard John Cook tell an audience recently that it is very difficult to recruit two outstanding classes in succession because players will realize the opportunities are limited if there are several top players in front of them. Penn State is stacked and most likely started more freshmen and sophormore than any top 20 team. I look for the Nittany Lions to really rooooar in 2007.

I think badgerbill is looking for a chink in the PSU armor. The great ones will always play. To have a winning program like Penn State you have to recruit the great ones. Sometimes what is great in highschool and club doesn't always translate to great college. Its called, for lack of a better explanation " peaking early" Baring injury PSU is going to be right up there for the next few years with what they currently have on board and coming in 07 There will always be others who want to be among the elite because the programs at the power schools offer the most to the elite player plus the desire to compete with the very best.

PSU is in good hands with a quality individual in Head Coach Russ Rose and offers a safe campus environment - two very important factors to any parent who is sending their daughter away to school.

I think home schooling is safer to be honest.
