I thought the show on ESPNews was more than 5 minutes. However - at Cal they turned it into a pizza party in the Haas Pavilion club room. It did get a little tense in the room as Cal was in the absolute last group of four. Sam Carter and Angie Pressey were having a good time. Kat Reilly and Am'ra Solomon got a little tired of waiting though. Oh - I guess Cal starts off the 2007 season hosting Idaho. So IB - are you coming? so uh... what was morgan beck doing?

so uh... what was morgan beck doing? Laughing so hard that she almost fell out of her chair. ;D Seriously - I put up 12 photos. I don't typically use flash, so I got some practice in redeye retouching. Glowing red eyes just don't look that that great. www.pbase.com/bearclause/ncaasel06

I remember when Fox Sports would show a live Pac-10 match of the week in the late 90's. There was a period where the Pac-10 women's volleyball network telecasts weren't on FSBA (it's now FSN Bay Area)... they were on BayTV, KRON's now-defunct cable channel. I think BayTV was more enthusiastic about volleyball than FSBA/FSNBA, which wouldn't be too hard: the only season FSBA/FSNBA carried very many live matches was the year the Sharks didn't play.

I believe SportChannel Bay Area officially became FSBA sometime around 1998. I remember watching a few live VB broadcasts in 1998 and recording one in 1999. BayTV was an odd beast. They would show repeats of KRON newscasts as well as a little of their own programming. I even remember a HS BB game between my alma mater El Cerrito (star player Drew Gooden) and St Joseph's of Alameda (they had Justin Davis). Somehow they managed to get the rights to broadcast some Pac-10 basketball games. However - I never quite understood why they would want to show video of Gary Radnich doing his radio sports talk program.
