It was never publicized by either side, but Cal is playing a Spring exhibition at St Mary's tonight (March 13). Of course I'm going. I'm assuming this is at McKeon Pavilion.

OK. The agreement was to play four games. Both teams were already warmed up so they started before 7:30. Honestly - Cal didn't look that polished. They were trying to work in Mindi Wiley and Kat Reilly. I was told Morgan Beck warmed up but she didn't play. Ellen Orchard didn't play that much except for game 4. St Mary's won game 1 rather handily; game 3 was 33-31 SMC with Cal having a couple of game points. Cal trailed by a bunch in games 2/4 but came back to win both.
I don't know the entire roster of St Mary's. However - Mandy Bible (their senior starting setter) was suited up but sat on the bench. Nikki Gonzalez (I thought she was a DS and hit in HS) set and frankly didn't look that bad doing it.

Did you take your camera? Yeah. Didn't take that many photos though. Anyone in particular? I'm not that sure about the St Mary's players' names although I could look up their bio photos.

You're already adjusted to DST? Wimp. Well - the cold I've been suffering along with the extra rest (and codeine cough syrup) rearranged my internal clock. What the heck - it's not midnight yet. Lemme see what I can do. BTW - several of the SMC players were wearing jewelry. Missie Stidham had some big honking diamond(?) earrings, but no stud on her eyebrow (I saw that once off the court).

With two new setters play was a little uneven. A result was quite a few nice scramble rallies, with lots of back and forth. St. Mary's continues to have an impressive block. Neither side got many good hits out of the middle; still working on that. With Beck out Cal was a little short at the opposite; had Cutera play there for a bit, which I would like to see, but that didn't work out too well, so Cat Dailey took over at opposite. Solomon,Cutera and Pressey alternated at OH, and alternated front and back row, as well. Wiley, Reilly and Orchard rotated at MB, with Orchard starting game one. With all this rotating going on kind of hard to get much consistency. Comforting to see Cutera bang one off the St. Mary's chest in the back row, though, and Hana was returning serve much better than last year.
