Does anyone know who made the National Team after the tryouts last month in Colorado Springs? Who has accepted an invitation to train/play with the team? I believe the players were to find out on March 9th.

I don't think that's the official announcement from the recent tryouts. Those are just the training members.

Laura Tomes was one player that was added from the recent tryouts. that was the only new name in the release. Took me a while to find this. I knew I had read it somewhere, but couldn't remember where. "The list of invited players will tentatively be made public on March 23 depending on all confirmations from the players being received at USA Volleyball." www.usavolleyball.org/VolleyballNews/news.asp?id=1511

Also from the Tomes release:
The U.S. Women’s National Training Team now includes 11 members with the addition of Tomes. Additional invited players who will join the U.S. Women’s National Training Team in May will be announced tentatively on March 23, along with selections to two 10-member A2 squads. The A2 squads will compete at the USA Volleyball Adult Open Championships May 26-June 2 in Austin, Texas.
I read that as Tomes was able to train immediately, while the rest of invitees from the tryouts are not going to start training until May.

Apparently, this was just circulated by the Badgers a day or two ago: Junior Taylor Reineke was offered a spot on the U.S. Women's A2 Team after tryouts were held in Colorado Springs, CO in February. However, due to the training schedule Taylor has opted to turn down the offer in order to train with the rest of the Badgers to prepare for our international trip at the end of May. Alumni, Sheila Shaw is planning to train with team USA. Sheila was invited to join the training squad for the rest of the spring and will be leaving this week for Colorado Springs. Sheila finished her Badger playing career a year ago and has been busy finishing up her classes. She will plan to graduate this spring and will be looking into playing professionally next season. Good luck, Sheila
