Volleyball Magazine's fab 50 is up and available on their home page. Looks like it is a bit different then prepvolleyball.com's senior aces.

St. Mary Catholic Central standout Kristen Arthurs has been named Gatorade's 2006-07 Michigan Girls Volleyball Player of the Year. Wonder how she did that since she is listed as being from Ohio? As in, the list is wrong. So how much else of it is right? I'm more impressed with prepvolleyball's list, myself!

The kids on this list are all very good. 39 of our top 50 Senior Aces, 45 of our top 60.
My question is, Does VB Mag explain what the criteria for selection is?
Is this a pure recruiting list? In the past it's been a combination of HS performance and recruiting potential. If that's so, I have no idea how you can leave Mary Ashley Tippins off after she set the Georgia career record for assists, led her HS to a 2006 state title, led A5 17 Mizuno to the Open division in 17s a year ago and is headed to Georgia Tech on full scholarship.

I think they take your list and make some slight adjustments so it doesn't totally look like they are plagarizing!! ;D

How many kids have made every list: Senior Aces, AVCA All American, Volleyball Fab 50, State Player of the Year...etc.
There will usually be some discrepancy in these lists depending upon the criteria, exposure and recent impact. I think AVCA, Prepvolleyball.com AND Volleyball Magazine do a commendable job at pinpointing the talent.
Great job to all.

Looks like the Volleyball Magazine list has a west-coast slant while the Prepvolleyball list is a little more national. I noticed 36% of the girls listed on Volleyball Magazine are from California. Is is possible that one state can have over 1/3 of the best players?

So who are the 5 left out? 2 of them are Purdue recruits.
If this is a list based upon recruiting, then Purdue is getting dissed because they have 3 top 50 recruits.
I still can't believe they listed Kristen as being from Ohio.

So, now we know why you think prepVolleyballs list is better but if Volleyball mag had more Purdue players it would have been the greatest list ever.
