nice to see a bunch of liberos in there! the recruiting landscape is definitely changing ... ... now when will the post-season awards start to reflect that change?? The last two national champions-----Candace Lee at Washington was a digging machine. She was keeping balls alive like no one else in the nation could.(from what little I could see on CSTV or ESPN). Last years semi vs UCLA---no way does Nebraska get through that match w/out Busboom at libero digging a record (for her) 29 balls.

After reading that list I just have one comment to make: Dicey McGraw is the coolest name ever.

One would guess that this poster is either a Shondell or related to that group. I think all 50 players should have been on both Prepvolleyball.com and Volleyball Magazines Top 50 list. So there! haha

Boiler Up is neither a Shondell nor related to them.
Personally, I think BU did a good job of pointing out the differences between the two lists.

Brooke Bartek (who was rated the #13 recruit in the nation) transfered from Nebraska to Kentucky because she wanted playing time. She was being kept on the sidelines by fellow frosh Kori Cooper. Playing time did seem to be the issue that led to Bartek's transfer. However, since they were playing different postions, I fail to see the connection to Kori Cooper.

When making up any ranking list it is very tough after the first 20 or so. Even if every coach responds, your recruits will be all over the place in rankings. A very tough job to rank. Yes, Dicey McGraw is THE coolest name. She is an awesome athlete.

What is the point of this list? What are the qualifications for making the fab 50? Some very good players aren't on this list while others are perhaps questionable. prepvballs list is way better. JTawa fan here. Sorry for the rant....

:)I say the purpose of this list was to recognize some terrific volleyball players. That does not mean there are not players who should be on this list. But for you to label anyone as "questionable" I would assume you have seen them all play and that you are knowledgeable about volleyball to make that statement.

Why a Fab 50?
Why not a Fab 53?
Some years, when the talent is deep, there should be a Fab 87. Other years, when the talent is thin, there should be a Fab 37. Oh, I get it. It's not poetic enough. No ring to it. Gotcha.

I am guessing that Kristen Arthurs is listed as being from Ohio because she plays for Toledo Volleyball Club in Ohio.
BTW-she had 30 kills yesterday and hit .510 in her team's victory in the state finals of Class C. (St. Mary's Catholic Central in Monroe, MI)
Heck, Monroe is practically in Ohio. . . .
Purdue got a good one with KA!

Hey, thanks for that news!!! Oh goodie. I get to go google Kristen Arthurs and it will show me something!!! Here are pictures from the State Volleyball Finals for Michigan class C: St Mary's starts at #10. (This site is a little slow to page through.) www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery?Site=C4&Date=20070317&Category=SPORTS09&ArtNo=703170802&Ref=PH&Params=Itemnr=15What fun!! Do you have her season stats??? Darn. She didn't get Miss Volleyball for Michigan. She tied for 2nd in the vote. Lauren Jones, Miss Volleyball, plans to play at Kent State. She is on PrepVolleyball's Senior Aces list. "Kristen Arthurs, 6-3, middle blocker, Monroe St. Mary CC. Led St. Mary CC to the Class C semifinals last season, earning first-team all-state honors. A four-year veteran, she has a 4.24 grade-point average and has been all-league for two seasons. She averaged 4.68 kills last season. Signed to play at Purdue." www.mivca.com/MissVB/MissVB.htmWow. 4.24. I wonder what her major will be?
