Will the Wahine play in a Spring tourney this year? I went to the ones in Vegas a few years back and loved it. Any info would be appreciated.

I don't think they are probably because of the many injuries with the starters...But I would like to see them go on some spring tourney's just to give Mafua more playing time and court experience and for the back court players.....It'll be good for them....

The program has never said much about spring ball in the past. What we do find out usually gets out through fans.I wouldn't go as far as saying that there won't be any spring ball anywhere because they seldom reveal anything about spring. They may stay close to home and do something with Hawaii Pacific or BYU Hawaii as they have many times in the past. Believe me they are not just sitting around getting fat, they are training.

The last I heard was that they would not be traveling this spring, the reason being, as Mix Breed said above, due to the players working to rehab from their injuries.

I've seen lots of the wahine up early running sprints on the soccer field with i suppose a strength and conditioning coach or something. But yeah I wouldn't be surprised to see them have exhibitions against the DII schools here HPU, BYU and Chaminade.

Those matches would only benefit HPU, BYU, and Chaminade...only because Hawai'i plays in the D1 level and has far better competition than any D2 schools....They need to bring in Cal or Washington to get up to par in terms of spring competition regardless with or without their 4 starters.....Just as I mentioned before, Dani Mafua needs all the experience she can get before season starts.....
