Don't see more than 1 or 2 players on that roster who will ever make our National Team...... AND THAT MAY BE A GENEROUS PREDICTION

Are you the same BM that proclaimed Hochever as a lock to make the national team as a setter and Berg had a chance no chance to make the team?

... and Berg had a chance no chance to make the team? What is "chance no chance"? Sounds cool.

AND THAT MAY BE A GENEROUS PREDICTION Well seeing as how 2/3 of them are liberos, I'd sure hope our starting libero is on that list. CT probably shouldn't set the team in the Olympics, but then again, if you just look at tangible qualities, she might not have made a club team in HS let a lone won a national title. Logically its doesn't look good, but at the same time I wouldn't count her out.

I guess they felt they needed some Virtue after the arrests of several team members. Oh, wait, this isn't football. Oops. Seriously, though, she was a very good setter in college. I am sure Buckeye fans remember how painful things were when she was hurt, although they probably don't want to do so.

I would never count CT out and I hope USA gives her a chance to show what she can do on the court with the veteran players. Individually Courtney may not "measure up" to the setters that USA has groomed, but every team she has ever played on has won a championship. She knows how to lead and get the best out of her teammates, like no other. UW wasn't even a top 25 team when she arrived. She took them to an elite 8 as a freshman, three Final Fours, and a Championship, all while "too short to play at that level." GO DAWGS

As Murina as pointed out MANY times, USA is not lacking in the setter department. We don't need the most highly-touted setter to be on the court to win. Jenn Flynn came out of nowhere to lead the US to a silver medal at WCH, and Berg has developed into a well-respected setter. Neither of them were ever expected to win the spot over the "highly-touted" setters of their time. The USA has lots of talent in the setter position ~ certainly enough to compete with the top dogs. Thompson could very well be the next surprise .... but so could many other setters. Where are the ball control outside hitters?
